How To Play Scrabble Tips
Scrabble is a board game, a word game that can be played by two to four players. Scrabble is fun and challenging because it is a game of words, you need to construct words using your tiles or your letters that you picked from the bag. You and the other players can make rule or allow the usage of dictionary, so that you can look up if there is a word or if the word that you just played exists.
How To Play Scrabble:
- Allow or play scrabble if they allow the usage of dictionary, but if you think you’re a geek and you know all the words, then go and take the challenge.
- Each player should pick one tile. The person who has the smallest letter will be the one who will start the game.
- Put the tiles or the letters on a small cloth bag and shuffle them, including the tile that you just picked.
- Then each player should get 7 pieces of tiles randomly. No one should see nor know your letters. No letter trading is allowed.
- Put your tiles on your rack and think or create of words from your tiles.
- If you will be the first person to start the game, then you should place your letters on the middle where the star is located. You can put it anywhere your word, as long as the star is included.
- Diagonal formation of words is not allowed.
- The player should pick tiles again from the bag. He or she should pick same number of tiles that he or she used. Example: If he used 4 tiles, then he should pick 4 tiles again from the bag and place it on his rack.
- Add up and total the score. Each blocks or tiles has number on it, it will be the score for each letter and there are some parts on your board that has labels like “triple letter” or “double word” if your block or tile hit one of those labels make sure to add it up too. Then tally and write down your score.
- For the next player, you need to add a new word or connect a new word from the previous player’s tiles on the board.
- Repeat or follow the steps for computing the scores.
- If you used up all your tiles then you will get higher score you will have an additional score, and that’s scrabble!
Here are the things that you should avoid in this game:
- Avoid diagonal forms
- Avoid words that use apostrophes and hyphens.
- Avoid picking or playing abbreviations.
These are just the basic game play. I am pretty sure that your vocabulary will improve if you will play this game often. It’s fun and easy.
